My first season: I came out second in my first "en ligne" race to now pro tour rider Rui Costa, who won in a two up sprint off my wheel. In the end of that season I nearly died in an accident caused by a badly adjusted bike. Resulting in an air evacuation, massive blood loss and a coma for five days. I woke alone in hospital and it was kind of like starting a fresh, everything seemed so beautiful.
